The Sink
The humble sink, we all have them and use them everyday, some we have inherited and others we have chosen but I have a fascination with them, I even have a dedicated pinterest board full of them. I dare say we all have our own taste when it comes to choosing sinks but I know what I like and would sacrifice just about anything in a design to have a beautiful sink. When we updated our kitchen nearly 20 years ago now I was certain that I wanted a double butlers sink, they weren’t as easy to find back then but I got mine from Baileys Home and Garden when they sold such things. It still looks as good as the day we fitted it and if we ever move it will break my heart a little bit to leave it behind. We have recently changed the sink in our bathroom, just before the Covid lockdown we were planning on renovating the bathroom but it got put on the back burner. My vision was to have a roll top bath and a concrete floating sink, I still love the vision but it will have to wait. So we decided to just change a few bits and put in a new sink ourselves, so the rustic vibe remains. I do love the squareness, now I want to change the taps again but that’s a completely different blog post. If I had a boot room I would have a vintage sink found probably in a reclamation yard, a big stone/ceramic one with chips and age marks but very beautiful in my eyes, like the ones you see in the wash houses of Stately Homes or a French Château. I’d also really like a fab sink in the garden to clean tools and pots but alas don’t have the space. All of these things get added to the forever growing wish list for the house we will own one day, maybe. So in a nutshell I love sinks, here are a few that caught my eye recently, I hope you agree that they are all stunners. Images 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, & 12
