Bijapur, the capital of the Adil Shahi dynasty For almost two centuries, Bijapur served as the capital of the Bijapur Sultanate. The 9 sultans of the Adil Shah dynasty turned the city into a fortified citadel complete with tombs, mosques, palaces and darghas. Today, Bijapur is the district headquarters of the district with the same name. It still has the Sultanate charm and houses about two dozen protected monuments, including tombs, mosque, palaces and darghas.

Red Taj and the Other Tombs of Roman Catholic Cemetery, Agra Agra is known for its Taj Mahal, but hidden among the by-lanes of Agra stands another Taj. The red sandstone structure lacks the grandeur and elegance of Taj but does have its share of charm. Interesting it is a Christian tomb located in the Roman Catholic Cemetery of Agra. The cemetery also houses several Mughal style tombs.
