Food Review: L’antica Pizzeria Da Michele Singapore | Neapolitan-Style Pizza From Italy Opens First Southeast Asia Outpost The Place Located on level one of the new Mercure Icon Singapore City Centre, L’antica Pizzeria Da Michele Singapore, a longstanding pizza brand from Italy with over 150 years of history, just opened its first Southeast Asia outpost this month along the buzzing Club Street.  Founded in 1870 by Michele Condurro, L’antica Pizzeria Da Michele has been synonymous with Neapolitan pizza excellence. It is one of Naples’ oldest pizzeria and is the first pizzeria in Singapore to offer handcrafted pizza a ruota di carro which translates to wagon wheel pizza – a unique, classic Neapolitan-style pizza characterised by its extra thin and wide dough with a diameter larger than the plate beneath it.  The interior of the restaurant is contemporary chic and exudes a cosy vibe with mainly wooden brown furniture.
