Can you use a friend's TK miles to upgrade? Hello,

Have a TK flight from HAN - IST and it just offered to upgrade to business for 20K. I do not have TK miles but have plenty of United.
Do you know if TK allows one person's reservations and another persons' miles to upgrade?
