NASA history profile picture

We may not look like much from this distance, but that light blue dot in the middle right side of this photo is actually the Earth! NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration's Cassini Mission to Saturn took this picture #today (July 19) in 2013. The Cassini spacecraft captured Saturn's rings and our planet Earth in the same frame. (If you look very closely at the Earth you will see a slight bulge on the right side - that is our Moon.) When this picture was taken by the wide angle camera on Cassini, the spacecraft was approximately 1.2 million kilometers (753,000 miles) from Saturn, and approximately 1.4 billion kilometers (898 million miles) from Earth.
