Premium economy offered - all seats grayed out

flying out of KIX on Sunday back home to Houston.
O, A & R show 9, and upgrade for $450 is offered, but I don’t want to end up in a middle seat.
it’s UA 34 this Sunday June 29.
is it a glitch? I can call I know but I wonder if...
