ST. LOUIS COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will close the northbound Interstate 270 exit ramp to Missouri Bottom Road for one week for pavement repairs. All work is weather permitting.
The exit ramp will be closed around the clock starting Monday, October 20 at 9 a.m. through Friday, October 24. Motorists can use the Route 67 (Lindbergh Boulevard) exit ramp, turn south on Lindbergh to Missouri Bottom Road.

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work planned in the mid–Missouri area Oct. 20 – 26, 2025. Weather conditions may postpone scheduled work. Many projects will include lane closures which could cause delays.      
All Counties 
In addition to the work listed below, other moving operations such as pothole patching, mowing, and pavement repairs continue in various locations. Motorists should travel with care and be alert for slow-moving equipment. 
All work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change. 
Boone County   
I-70 Drive Southeast – Water line relocation planned Oct. 20 – 24 at Woodridge Drive. The entrance to Woodridge Drive will be closed daily from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. This work is part of the Improve I-70 program. Learn more at modot.org/improvei70/columbiakingdomcity. 
Route TT – Pedestrian facility upgrades continue from Yorkshire Drive to Fairview Road in Columbia. Work will require temporary closures of pedestrian facilities and intermittent nighttime single-lane closures with flaggers to direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2025. 
Route K and Old Plank Road intersection – Roundabout construction continues.  The intersection will remain open, but is narrowed to one lane with temporary traffic signals directing motorists through the work zone. Motorists should expect delays. This is a cost-share project between the City of Columbia and MoDOT and is scheduled for completion in December 2025. 
U.S. Route 63 – Interchange improvements at Route AC (Grindstone Parkway) continue. Contractors working with the Missouri Department of Transportation plan to close Lenoir Street from Grindstone Parkway to the main entrance to Lenoir Woods. This will also affect the northernmost entrance to Lenoir Woods. Motorists will need to use an alternative route around the closure. The closure is scheduled for completion in November 2025. 
U.S. Route 63 – Bridge rehabilitation continues between Broadway (south of Interstate 7 and Vandiver Drive (north of I-7 in Columbia. The roadway will remain open but in a head-to-head configuration with narrowed lanes and reduced speeds. This traffic pattern is expected to be in place through November 2025. This work is part of the Improve I-70 program. Learn more at modot.org/improvei70/columbiakingdomcity. 
North Outer Road 70 – CLOSED for a culvert extension project at Little Cedar Creek, east of Columbia near mile marker 134.8 on I-70. Motorists will need to use an alternate route during the closure, which is expected to continue through February 2026. This work is part of the Improve I-70 program. Callaway County 
South Outer Road 70 (Jade Road) – Pavement repairs planned Oct. 20 – 23 from Route HH to Route DD. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 
Route FF (Old U.S. Route 4 – Bridge removal continues. The roadway will be CLOSED Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be no detour signs during the weekday, daytime closures, but signs located well ahead of the closure will alert motorists to use an alternate route. This project is scheduled for completion in November 2025. This work is part of the Improve I-70 program. Learn more at modot.org/improvei70/columbiakingdomcity. 
South Outer Road 70 (Jade Road) and North Outer Road 70 (Old U.S. Route 4 – CLOSED for a culvert replacement project at Sallees Creek, west of Kingdom City. Motorists will need to use an alternate route during the closures, which are expected to continue through February 2026. This work is part of the Improve I-70 program. I-70 – New pavement construction continues from the Boone County line (near mile marker 136.6) to Kingdom City (near mile marker 148) as part of the Improve I-70 Program. Motorists can expect intermittent and long-term lane closures for the duration of the project, which has an overall completion date in 2027. This work is part of the Improve I-70 program. I-70 westbound ramp – The ramp from westbound I-70 to Route J (Exit 137) is CLOSED.  As an alternate route, motorists can take Exit 144 and use the North Outer Road 70 to Route J. The South Outer Road 70 is not continuous and does not connect to Route J. This work is part of the Improve I-70 program. Learn more at modot.org/improvei70/columbiakingdomcity. 
Cole County 
Business U.S. 50 (Missouri Boulevard) – Pedestrian facility upgrades continue from Howard Street to MoDOT Drive. Work will require temporary closures of pedestrian facilities and intermittent nighttime single-lane closures. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2025. 
U.S. Route 54 – Bridge rehabilitation continues over Neighorn Branch, south of Jefferson City. Traffic is narrowed to one lane in each direction in a head-to-head configuration for the duration of project. A 14-foot width restriction and speed reductions as low as 45 mph are in place through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2025. 
Associated access restrictions through November 2025: 

Route CC: 


No access from eastbound U.S. Route 54 to Route CC. 


No access from Route CC to either direction of U.S. Route 54. 


Shepherd Hills Road/Wooded Hills Lane intersection: 


No access to or from westbound U.S. Route 54 at Shepherd Hills Road. 


No access to or from eastbound U.S. Route 54 at Wooded Hills Lane. 

 
Crawford County 
Missouri Route 8 – Culvert replacement planned Oct. 20 – 23 from Route T to Route Y. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 
Routes CC and FF – Pavement repairs planned Oct. 20 – 23. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 
Route DD – Culvert replacement planned Oct. 20 – 23 from Missouri Route 19 to Highland Drive. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 
Route M – Culvert replacement planned Oct. 20 – 23 from Route 8 to Route YY. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 
North Outer Road 44 – Pavement repairs planned Oct. 20 – 23 from Route F to Route U. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 
Route J – Bridge replacement continues over Boone Creek. The bridge is CLOSED with a signed detour in place to direct motorists around the closure. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2025.  
Howard 
Route 5 – Bridge replacement continues over Bear Creek in Glasgow. One lane will remain open, and temporary traffic signals will direct motorists through the work zone. A 12-foot width restriction is in place. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2025. 
Laclede County 
Route WW – Pavement repairs planned Oct. 20 – 21. The roadway will be CLOSED daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Motorists must use an alternate route. 
Missouri Route 5 – Culvert replacement planned Oct. 22 – 24 from Brice Street to Adams Avenue. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 
Maries County 
Route C – Culvert replacement planned Oct. 20 – 23. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 
Route AA – Bridge replacement continues over the Little Maries River. The bridge is CLOSED with a signed detour in place. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2025. 
Miller County 
Route CC – Culvert replacement planned Oct. 20 at Route OO. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 
U.S. Route 54 – Bridge maintenance planned Oct. 20 – 23 over Bagnall Dam. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 
U.S. Route 54 – Pavement repairs planned Oct. 20 – 23 at Route AA. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 
Route U – Culvert replacement planned Oct. 22. The roadway will be CLOSED just north of the junction with Route EE from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Motorists must use an alternate route. 
Route FF – Pavement repairs planned Oct. 22 – 23 from Mount Herman Road to Route A. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 
U.S. Route 54 – Guardrail/guard cable part of J5P3500 
Moniteau County 
Route U – Bridge replacement continues over Howard Creek. The bridge is CLOSED, and motorists must use an alternate route. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2025. 
Missouri Route 87 and Route C intersection – Roundabout construction continues.  The intersection will remain open but is narrowed to one lane with temporary signals directing traffic through the work zone. Motorists should expect delays. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2025. 
Morgan County 
Route 52 – Roundabout construction continues in Versailles at the intersection of Route 52 and Route 5. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2025. 
Phelps County 
Route T – Culvert replacement planned Oct. 21 – 20 from County Road 7460 to County Road 7400. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 
Route D – Bridge rehabilitation continues over I–44, approximately 7 miles southwest of Doolittle. The bridge is CLOSED, with a signed detour in place. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2025. 
Missouri Route 72 – Pedestrian facility upgrades continue on Route 72 in Rolla. Work will require temporary closures of pedestrian facilities and intermittent single-lane closures with flaggers to direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2025. 
Pulaski County 
Missouri Route 28 – Bridge rehabilitation continues over I–44 in St. Robert. The bridge is CLOSED, with a signed detour in place. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2025. 
Missouri Route 28 – Pedestrian facility upgrades continue from East A Street to Chestnut Street in Dixon. Work will require temporary closures of pedestrian facilities and intermittent single-lane closures with flaggers to direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2025.  
Washington County 
Route Y – Pavement repairs planned Oct. 20 – 23. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 
Route 8 – Bridge rehabilitation continues over the Union Pacific Railroad. The roadway will remain open throughout the project but is narrowed to one lane. Motorists should expect delays.  
Missouri Route 47 – Bridge replacement continues over Mill Creek. The bridge is CLOSED with a signed detour in place to direct motorists around the closure. This project is scheduled for completion in November 2025.

LEE’S SUMMIT, MO – The Missouri Department of Transportation will be performing maintenance work throughout the Kansas City region from Oct. 20-24. All work is weather permitting.
JACKSON COUNTY
35th St. over U.S. Highway 71: bridge closed from Monday, Oct. 20 until Thursday, Oct. 23, from approximately 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily, for bridge joint replacement work.
U.S. Highway 40 westbound at White Cemetery Rd.: right lane closed on Monday, Oct. 20, from approximately 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., for roadway entrance work.
Route F between U.S. Highway 50 and Colbern Rd.: flagging operations from Tuesday, Oct. 21 until Thursday, Oct. 23, from approximately 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily, for pavement repair.
Interstate 70 eastbound: left lane closures from approximately 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. daily, for barrier wall repair.

Wednesday, Oct. 22: from Pitttman Rd. to Blue Ridge Blvd.
Thursday, Oct. 23: from Manchester Trfy. to Blue Ridge Cutoff

JOHNSON COUNTY
Missouri Highway 131 between Missouri Highway 2 and SE 700 Rd.: flagging operations from Monday, Oct. 20 until Thursday, Oct. 23, from approximately 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily, for pavement repair.
SALINE COUNTY
Missouri Highway 240 between U.S. Highway 65 and Missouri Highway 41 south: flagging operations from Monday, Oct. 20 until Thursday, Oct. 23, from approximately 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily, for pavement repair.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.

SIKESTON –Work continues on Route 25 on the Diversion Channel Bridge in Cape Girardeau County as construction crews perform striping and shoulder cleanup.  The section of roadway is located between Route 77 and Route 74 in Dutchtown, Missouri. Weather permitting, work will take place Tuesday, Oct. 21 through Friday, Oct 24 from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. daily.   
Temporary traffic signals will be in place to guide traffic around construction crews on site. The work zone will be marked with signs. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.

JACKSON COUNTY – Crews will be conducting various lane/ramp closures on Interstate 70 from Monday, Oct. 20 until Thursday, Oct. 23 for work relating to the Improve I-70 KC project.
Monday, Oct. 20 and Tuesday, Oct. 21: Right lane closed on I-70 eastbound from Cleveland Ave. to Jackson Ave. (approximately 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily)
Wednesday, Oct. 22: Exit closed from I-70 westbound to Prospect Ave. closed (approximately 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
Wednesday, Oct. 22 & Thursday, Oct. 23: Right lane closed on I-70 westbound from Jackson Ave. to 23rd St. (approximately 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily)
All work is weather permitting.
The Improve I-70 KC project is a five-mile stretch of Interstate 70 between The Paseo Blvd. and US 40/31 St. in KC. This section of I-70 was built in the early 1960s and carries up to 120,000 vehicles per day.
The $237 million project will replace aging infrastructure, improve connectivity with heavy traffic congestion during rush hours and traffic incidents. This project includes the rehabilitation or replacement of 12 interchanges and 26 bridges. Overall, the project will improve the safety and reliability of this corridor section, maintain the serviceability of bridges and pavement, and improve accessibility for the local community, while minimizing the overall traffic impacts along the corridor. Construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2025 with an anticipated project completion by December 2028.
