Several Canadians scored some HUGE lottery wins this weekend
Although no one won the Lotto Max and Lotto 6/49 jackpots, this weekend was still lucky for several Canadian lottery players.
The Lotto Max draw took place on Friday, April 25, and the top prize was $60 million. No one matched the winning numbers 05, 06, 14, 17, 31, 40, 48, and bonus 02, but someone did come close after they matched six of the seven numbers and the bonus number, netting themselves the second prize worth $240,813.50. According to PlayNow, the winning ticket was sold in Ontario.
Fifty-seven lottery players matched six of the seven winning numbers, splitting the third prize. They’ll each receive $4,224.80.
There were six Maxmillions prizes to be won, and two people are now $1 million richer after matching the numbers 1, 3, 13, 21, 25, 36, and 46, as well as 1, 16, 21, 38, 41, 44, and 46.
No one won the Lotto Max Extra prize worth $500,000 or the Encore prize worth $1 million.
The next Lotto Max draw is on Tuesday, April 29. The jackpot is worth $65 million, and there are now eight Maxmillion prizes to be won.
The Lotto 6/49 draw on Saturday, April 26, also resulted in some pretty big wins.
No one won the Gold Ball prize worth $54 million, but someone did win the White Ball prize of $1 million after matching the winning number 50234979-01. The lucky ticket was sold in Ontario.
Another Ontario resident has become a multimillionaire after winning the Classic Draw prize of $5 million. The winning numbers were 18, 22, 28, 32, 38, 44, and bonus 20.
Eight Canadians split the second Classic Draw prize after they all matched five of the six winning numbers and the bonus number. Five winning tickets were sold in Ontario, two in Western Canada, and one in Atlantic Canada. Each winner will receive a $37,646.40 prize.
In all, 104 people will split the third prize, each receiving $1,216.00.
Someone in Nanoose Bay, B.C., won the $500,000 Classic Draw Extra prize after they matched the winning numbers 29, 40, 70, and 82. No one won the $1-million Encore prize.
The next Lotto 6/49 draw is scheduled for Wednesday, April 30, and the Gold Ball prize is worth $56 million.
