Forum Post: RE: how to generate devicetree.dtb and uImage for updated design?
Hi svvv25 ! Could you please tell me more specifically what did you change in your HDL design, for example, what did you change in the AD9361 IP? Are there any other changes besides the IP? Regarding your question about regenerating the uImage and the devicetree when generating a new BOOT.BIN, it depends on the situation. If you did some "slight" changes to your HDL design, there're some occasion where you don't need to regenerate the uImage and devicetree, you can use the old binaries with the new BOOT.BIN. If you did more complex changes to your design (removed/added components, major changes to the IPs etc.), in most cases you must change the driver/devicetree, thus regenerate the uImage/devicetree, depending on your HDL changes. Could you please provide a log of your boot, to see what errors you encounter? If you modified the device driver or devicetree and you want to generate a new uImage or devicetree, please follow the steps mentioned in the previous reply. Thank for understanding! Best regards, Cristi
