Food Review: Highhouse At One Raffles Place | Dining & Lifestyle Venue With Awesome Views Of Singapore Skyline The Place Located in the heart of Raffles Place, I checked out Highhouse recently for the first time since it opened a year ago. HighHouse is one of two innovative concepts within the OUE Sky project, blending music, art and flavors in a unique space. It is a spacious setting spanning over 10,000 square feet across the 61st and 62nd floors of One Raffles Place, and it offers breathtaking views of the Singapore skyline. It is not just a bar, but also a restaurant which offers an extensive menu.   The interior design of HighHouse is a fusion of luxury and contemporary style, with plush booths and dining tables strategically placed by the floor-to-ceiling windows. As the evening progresses, the venue transitions into a vibrant nightlife venue, with music and art taking center stage. There is a rotating line-up of live performances and DJ sets – burlesque and carnival dancers on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; while live performers across musicians (violinist, guitarist and saxophonist) and entertainers on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.  The Food Their revamped food menu is showcases Pacific Coast-inspired cuisine with a Modern Pan-Asian twist. Their cocktail menu explores inspirations from 6 key countries – Australia, Korea, Malaysia, [...]

KA-MON @ Resorts World Sentosa - Three Traditional Japanese Grilling Techniques Under One Roof Nestled within Resorts World Sentosa, KA-MON is the latest venture by celebrated Chef Hal Yamashita. It promises an authentic yet innovative Japanese grilling experience. What sets KA-MON apart is its integration of three traditional grilling techniques — irori, robatayaki, and warayaki — all within a single restaurant. It reminds me of Setsuri Ishinomake, which also embraces multiple

Food Review: Gamtan Korean Cuisine At Telok Ayer Street | Korean Barbecue With Prized King Galbi Beef Cut The Place Located in the buzzing Telok Ayer Street, Gamtan Korean Cuisine is a Korean barbecue restaurant which only opened late last year. The restaurant also offers Sotbap (Korean pot rice) lunch sets for the CBD crowd. The interior of Gamtan is simple and the shophouse space is denominated by a mix of different table sizes. The Korean restaurant is helmed by a master butcher and chef duo, where Gamtan also prides itself as the only restaurant in Singapore to offer King Galbi – the crown jewel of K-BBQ – a rare USDA Prime rib cut (6, 7, and 8) as each cow yields only six scarce pieces, carved using a unique butchery technique. There are only 20 servings available daily at Gamtan.  The Food Other than their ala carte menu, Gamtan also has a variety of sets like The King’s Delight (S$148 for 2-3 pax) and The King’s Feast (S$228 for 3-4 pax). Both sets feature the renowned King Galbi (500g), Beef Tartare, Naengmyun (Cold Noodles Spicy/Non-Spicy), and Soybean Stew, with the larger set having an additional Bone Galbi (500g). For non-beef lovers, two variants of the Gamtan Pork Set are also available: Axe Belly Delight (S$98 for 2-3 pax), and Pork Belly Favorites (S$128 for 3-4 pax). [...]
